"Back to Basics"
Every year we have an opportunity to look back over the previous 12 months and compare our aspirations with our attainments. Then, based on our assessment of our progress or lack thereof, we declare ourselves ready to commit anew to a plan of action designed to overcome our historic shortcomings and rectify previous mistakes. In other words "New Years Resolutions". Yes, it's that time again. The usual lists include, but not necessarily in this order;
1) To lose weight and get into shape
2) To get out of debt
3) To buy a home
4) To get our financial affairs in order
5) To spend more quality time with friends and family
6) To get a raise, promotion, or other workplace acknowledgment
7) To obtain or finish a degree
8) To build a better marriage or significant relationship
9) To stop smoking/drinking
10) Eat better and work out
In short, the same list in approximately the same order as the previous year. We seem to have no problem identifying the areas of our lives that are chaotic and need to be addressed but there is a huge gap between knowing the problem and solving it. Why?
I have come to believe as true, a statement I once heard. "Except for the books you read and the people you meet, you are the same person today that you will be 5 years from now."
It occurs to me that if a person who recognized a problem in their lives knew how to solve it, that would never be an issue to begin with. Therefore, if we have a problem that remains unsolved we have no clue how to go about a solution. It will remain a problem for us until we learn something new from the books, tapes, or people we encounter.
In recognition of this very human tendency to improve the lives and circumstances of our loved ones and ourselves, every year Remcor Real Estate schedules a series of workshops intended to educate, motivate, and inspire the kind of thinking that changes lives and cures financial chaos. Please feel free to register for any or all of the free workshops below. This year, instead of resolutions make changes that last!
